Video Production
Broadcast? VHS tape? CD-ROM? Streaming Video?
Imagine the excitement over 100 years ago when audiences were first treated to the simplistic short films of the Lumiere brothers or Thomas Edison. The image of a train coming into the station, moving toward the camera, had viewers screaming and heading toward the building's exit.
Perhaps not as dramatic, but certainly a measure of that spectacle was encountered in the early 1990's when postage-stamp Quicktime movies were first viewed on the computer. Soon after that, videos were able to play seamlessly within your web browser, if you had a high-speed connection.
Throughout the past several years there have been significant technological improvements in the recording and delivery of moving images. But still it comes down to the basic message you want to deliver to your audience. The tools to create amazing special effects may be at your fingertips but if the message isn't well-crafted, then the glitz will fall short of leaving a lasting impression.
Whether your audience will be reached via broadcast television, VHS tape, CD-ROM, DVD, or streaming video on the web, make sure that the content is engineered to meet the needs of your target learners.
